Welcome to Justin's page

Justin Derik Barnard was born on May 22, 1987 in Canton, Ohio. Justin grew up in
Tuscarawas County, Ohio,  and attended the New Philadelphia School district for
his education.

Below are a few excerpts from Justin's Memorial page located on Linn-Geib Family

"His brief time here was characterized by a passion for helping his friends, spoiling
his pets, telling outrageous stories, and using Legos, model cars, model aircraft to
create for others what only his vivid imagination would fully reveal. Like many
young men Justin was drawn to NASCAR, where, his brother is sure, “Justin’s
ability to take apart and put things back together” would make him a great candidate
for a mechanic in just about any pit crew."

"Around town, Justin was known to visit the Park Place Teen Center. He enjoyed
bike riding, skateboarding, and was into playing video games and watching
television – he was especially fond of The Daily Show."

"Most of all, Justin will be remembered as a caregiver to his friends – and his family.
He leaves behind many friends who will remember Justin for his attentive ear, and
for his ability to listen, he was thought of as a teenage therapist."

On Tuesday, September 27, 2005: Justin was found in the Tuscarawas River, as the result
of a brutal and horrific murder.  He was only 18 years of age.

Legend Trackers received an email from Justin's mother, Patricia Barnard-Stoller,
in reference to her son.  She was concerned that his soul may not have moved on
spiritually and possibly was stuck and confused within the walls of the house in
which he met his last minutes on this plane with us. Pat also stated that she
strongly feels Justin is still here in spirit as she has had dreams and feelings of
him there with her.
Lori and I (Patti) met with her at the home where Justin was murdered. This was a
very small home in New Philadelphia, Ohio, just around the corner from Pat's
home. Neither I or Lori felt Justin in that house and both felt pretty confident that
he did move on from this house. It was a traumatic feeling just knowing what had
happened there.
We then went over to Pat's house and she made us feel very comfortable during
our visit with her.  She shared Justin's room and all the newspaper clippings of
what had happened. It was very clear to us that she loves and misses her son very
much. As we talked to her about Justin, we learned a great deal about his
personality and the kind of young man that he was. Pat also shared pictures of
Justin from a young boy as he was growing up.  We did feel him very much in that
house and a couple of times could sense that he was in the living room and that he
wanted Pat to know that he was fine and he was concerned about his mother and
family members.
The house he was killed in, is slated to be torn down January 18, 2007.  We hope
that our visit will help rid Justin's  family of the heartache that they feel.  Rest in
Peace dear Justin.  Our blessings to his entire family.

Pat was given the opportunity to take the first swing with a sledgehammer to begin
the demolition process of the house in which Justin lost his life.  The house was
bought at auction by Habitat for Humanity, and a Habitat house will be built on the
site.  We have been told the new house will be built on the same property although
the new home will be constructed further back on the property so it will not sit on
the original foundation site.
